Building an outhouse near the cabin in the wilderness, off grid house
A toilet has finally appeared near my forest cabin. We all know how much we need this building. I had some scraps of boards left over from building a shed and decided to use them here. The form factor isn't very conventional and I like that. I didn't quite have enough time to finish the toilet completely, but the basic work is done.
0:16 preparing for work
1:25 burying the concrete toilet ring
4:28 burning logs on the fire for the floor
6:52 assembling the floor using a new method (for me)
11:58 simple frame for the toilet
13:58 bird's nest under the shed roof
14:23 cooking lunch in the cabin
15:56 roof
16:37 evening and overnight stay
17:32 morning and assembling the walls
20:59 installing the toilet.
21:34 making the inner wall and simple doors.

Handcrafted forest cabin interior, Wooden tiny house, rain and thunderstorm

I made some shelves for my cabin in the woods today and this is something I definitely missed. Organizing the space really helps. I also oiled and waxed the sink and finally installed it (I carved the sink out of a pine log last issue). I also made normal steps for the shed for the first time, which were also lacking. 0:00 on this episode 0:22 rainy morning in the cabin 1:04 firewood for the st...

Finally finished a small storage area near the cabin that will probably serve as a workshop on occasion. I have always lacked a place to store scraps of boards and other materials. Now I have such a place. My cozy cabin in the woods is expanding. There is still a lot of work ahead. I hope that I will be able to make this forest plot a cozy place. 6 months building cabin in the woods, off grid house start to finish

It's time to publish the complete construction of my cabin in the woods. The cabin has a stove, which means you can keep warm in any weather. The cabin has a bed and a table, which means there is a place to sit and sleep, there is a table for eating and cooking. All this I consider the basis for a comfortable stay in this forest cabin, and all the rest is small refinements and improvements, whi...

Thaw and snow, the forest house has become even more cozy, off grid cabin in the snowy woods

Winter has finally arrived. My cabin in the woods looks even cozier during the snowfall, and the stove gives the warmth I need. Last time I made a bed and it's time to make a small table. I decided to make the legs of the table shaped, so that somehow it differs from the majority. I am working on the house slowly, because everything you see I am doing for the first time, trying some joining tec...

Haven't been in the dugout in half a year. Due to the fact that I do not take care of it, the shelter began to fall into disrepair. In our region the first snowfalls and I decided to take advantage of this moment and spend time in the dugout instead of in the forest cabin. Perhaps this was my last visit, as I am thinking of dismantling it and chopping it for firewood (no definite decision yet)....

My forest cabin now has a stove and it keeps me warm in times of need. It's time to make a bed, because in my cabin there is not even a place to sit, and I slept on the floor in a sleeping bag (if you remember). I'm making the bed out of a regular inch board that I have left. For the darker shade I cover the board with stain. Have a nice view everyone! #woodenhouse #foresthouse #cabinbuild Two ...

We don't have snow yet, but the temperature is dropping rapidly. To stay warm I need to install a stove. Since I want to create a cozy cabin, the stove should look like a vintage one. It was not easy to drag it to the cabin, the weight of the stove is 79 kilograms. The day was quite rainy, but that didn't interfere with my plans. Bad weather in a place like this adds a special charm. 2 days in ...

I went to the log cabin in the mountains again. This way I take a break from building on the property and get to know new places. I like to come to the mountain lodges when it is cold, because there is no one here in this weather. In summer these cabins are used by shepherds and cheese makers. This time I encountered the first snow of the year and the temperature dropped to -1 at night. I knew ...

For my birthday I decided to have a little fun, forget about building a house on the plot and go to the mountains. I wanted to visit the cabins where the shepherds live. I packed my backpack, chose a place on the map and set off. This cabin is located on one of the trails in the Carpathians. I had to walk to it not long, about 12 kilometers. Shepherds live here in the summer, and in the fall an...

It's time to make a terrace. Now things will go faster, because it took a long time to insulate and panel the cabin in the forest. It's autumn...it's time to put the stove on. It's been a long time since we've seen each other. I spent 4 days and two nights in my house in the forest. Those were good days. I had to make numerous trips from the city to the cabin in the woods because I needed a lot of insulation, and it's bulky. I need a total of 16 packs, but only 3 fit in the car. After insulating some walls, I immediately attached the vapor barrier. I did this to quickly cover at least one wall with imitation timber cladding... I really wanted to see how it would look. gute Arbeit! ich finde es gut, daß jemand mal das Thema Toilette zeigt. 🙃🤔

Hello friend, greetings from Finland. Great job as always. I don't understand one thing. To be able to use your outhouse continuously, you need to be able to empty it when it fills up. Of course, it takes a long time and there are substances that promote soiling...but it will still fill up with time. How did you plan to handle it?
